Best of ColourPop Cosmetics 2019

Over the past two years I have accumulated a TON of ColourPop Cosmetics. They quickly became one of my favourite brands when I realized just how affordable their products are for the quality you get. ColourPop isn’t just good “for the price”. ColourPop is good period! It’s one of the main reasons why I was so happy to join their affiliate team last month. Today I’m sharing with you the best of ColourPop with my my Top 10 ColourPop Cosmetics products. Let’s jump in!

ColourPop Dream St. Palette Colour Story

The Best Of ColourPop Cosmetics 2019

#1. Dream St. Palette

Dream St. is a collaboration between ColourPop and one of my favourite YouTubers, Kathleen Lights. She is also the mastermind behind the ColourPop Zodiac Collection, and my favourite nail polish brand KL Polish (which is unfortunately no longer a business). Basically anything that Kathleen touches I love.

Dream St. has beautiful blendable mattes and the Colour Story is a dream to work with (no pun intended). I love the contrast between the warm fiery shades and the cooler, water bearer inspired shadows. The quality of this palette is top notch!

ColourPop Brown Sugar Palette Review | Color Story

#2. Brown Sugar Palette

This palette is a collaboration with Karrueche, as was the She Palette. I know that Brown Sugar is just a neutral palette but I honestly love it so so much. I included it in my 2018 favourites as well as my recent June Favourites and it’s still one of my most reached for palettes sixvf months later. In the beauty community we tend to move from new release to release and forget about our older products, but not with this beauty!

Something about the charcoal shade combined with warm browns and oranges speaks to me. These shades are almost impossible to over blend and I can wear them to the office or out for dinner. I think the Brown Sugar Palette well deserves it’s #2 spot.

ColourPop Give It To Me Straight Palette Up Close

#3. Give It To Me Straight Palette

My review of this palette is my most viewed post of all time. This year I recreated all of the makeup looks I did with the Give It To Me Straight Palette and came up with a Valentine’s Day Lookbook themed around these shades.

The Mauve Color Story is gorgeous and can be used for anything from daytime looks to evening smokey eyes. I often wear this palette to family gatherings because I know I can create a subtle look with these shades that won’t let me down. I’ve mentioned before that my parents are very conservative (at least my Dad is) so I try to find a balance of glam and natural. Give It To Me Straight gives me that balance.

Tea Party Super Shock Shadow

#4. Tea Party Super Shock Shadow

I know that the Super Shock Shadows were ColourPop’s first launch ever, but I don’t really reach for them all that much. I detest their matte super shock formula (sorry!) but I really like working with the Ultra Glitter finish. Tea Party is a sparkly pink shadow that has lasted 2 years without drying out somehow.

This is my favourite eye shadow topper to wear with the Too Faced Peachy Matte Palette and it’s beautiful on it’s own as well.

ColourPop BFF Mascara | Blue Ya Mind

#5. Blue Ya Mind BFF Mascara

I recently reviewed ColourPop’s BFF Mascara in the shade Blue Ya Mind, and let me tell you, this shade is seriously FUN! At 26 I still love playing with colour even though I feel like I should be settling into neutrals and playing bridge on weekends or something like that. And visiting the old folks home to reminisce about the “good old days”.

I guess I’m not THAT ancient yet, and the fact that I love this striking blue mascara reaffirms that fact for me. This mascara gives me a good amount of curl and it never clumps or flakes. The colour lasts all day and because I wear glasses it tones the effect down so I feel like I’m secretly a badass.

ColourPop Lux Lipstick Flower SZN

#6. Lux Lipstick in Flower SZN

I was confused about Flower SZN because it honestly feels and looks like a matte finish despite being sold as a crème lipstick. I don’t understand! But it looks gorgeous on the lips. I’ve worn it in several looks already, most notably in my Sweet Talk Palette Review.

This lipstick is pigmented as hell and wears for hours without noticeable fading around the centre of my lips. This is a bright colour that I’m actually comfortable wearing to work because of how naturally it fades — I don’t need to worry about looking like a clown or getting lipstick on my teeth!

ColourPop Lippie Stix & Brick Lux Lipstick

#7. ColourPop Lippie Stix | Matte Formula

I’m sad that ColourPop is focusing more on Lux Lipsticks than their original Lippie Stix. The Lippie Stix shade selection isn’t nearly as good anymore and I feel like Lippie Stix are rarely talked about. The Matte and Matte X Lippie Stix are some of the best matte lipsticks I’ve ever worn.

The satin formula isn’t my favourite but the matte lippie stix are crazy pigmented, long wearing and never, ever cake into lip lines or accentuate them. Why aren’t they focusing on these anymore!? Unfortunately my favourite matte lippie stix shades aren’t available anymore but there is still a limited selection on the website Here.

#8. Lux Lipstick in Brick

I’ve never reviewed the Lux Lipstick formula on my blog. I now have four of these lipsticks in two different finishes but I’m torn about reviewing them because I’ve had different experiences will all four lipsticks.

Brick is a stand out for me. It lasts longer on my lips that LA Lady and it’s actually more red toned than brown. Online it looks brown but it has a rusty undertone that never came through on the promo pics. I’m definitely a fan!

ColourPop Dream Sequence Guilty Pleasure Super Shock Highlighter

#9. Dream Sequence Super Shock Highlighter Palette

I got to try my first Super Shock Highlighters in December when I placed my Christmas Haul Order. These highlighters feel super wet to the touch and even after six months they show no signs of drying out in palette form.

I get compliments on how ethereal my glow is when I wear these highlighters and I much prefer them to ColourPop’s Pressed Powder Highlighters which don’t have as much WOW factor. My This Is For You pressed powder highlighter palette is lovely on occasion but when I want my highlight to be blinding I go for Dream Sequence.

I love this palette but now that I’ve tried it I would only buy Super Shock Singles. You probably don’t need all four of these shades and they can all be purchased individually πŸ™‚

ColourPop Lippie Scrub in Razzle Dazzle

#10. Razzle Dazzle Lippie Scrub

I wasn’t expecting miracles when ColourPop branched out into lip scrubs and lip balms. I haven’t tried their lip balms but I have worn their So Juicy Glosses so you can check out that review!

ColourPop’s lip scrub is now my favourite scrub ever. I’ve tried the Bite Beauty Scrub, the Fresh Beauty Scrub and I’ve made quite a few lip scrub concoctions at home but ColourPop’s Razzle Dazzle Lippie Scrub takes the cake.

This scrub tastes like raspberries and bubble gum and it’s extra soothing and nourishing on the lips. It helps to buff away dead and dry skin but it’s gentle enough that I don’t feel like it’s damaging the skin. And it’s only $8, which is much more affordable than the higher end scrubs on the market.

Best of ColourPop 2019

What are your favourite products from ColourPop?

I have so many more palettes and individual products that I love from CP but these are the top ten that stood out to me. I’ve featured many of these products in past monthly YouTube & blog favourites and I genuinely enjoy and recommend them all.

While I love all of the products mentioned there are certainly products from ColourPop (and any brand really) that I didn’t enjoy and don’t recommend. For example the No Filter Foundation is the bane of my existence as I’m trying to finish the bottle in my 2019 project pan. The No Filter Foundation Stix also wasn’t my cup of tea and I have yet to find a way to make the Super Shock Blushes work for me.

With any brand there will be hits and misses, but luckily most of my ColourPop Cosmetics collection has been a hit. If you want to hear more make sure to check out my extensive collection of ColourPop Reviews. Catch you later! x

When I first heard of colourpop, it was definitely for their super shock eyeshadows. The price kind of made me nervous, because I wasn’t sure if it was going to be one of those brands where it’s “good for the price” or just plain good. I searched all over the internet and there were mixed reviews on the shadows, and finally during a huge sale I ended up buying I think 4 of them. I think it was pretty hit or miss, but as they continue to release some products I kept trying their things, and have continued to be amazed by their quality! While I knew you liked the Dream St. and the Brown Sugar Palette, I gotta say that I’m surprised you put them in your top 10! I think the next time I wanna treat myself I might get one of them! Great post cleia xxx

It’s funny that I never really got into the Super shock shadows because everyone raves about them now! They’re certainly a unique formula but I agree that they can be hit or miss. But I love what great quality the majority of their products are! I’m glad that you love them so much too πŸ™‚

I surprised myself with how much I loved the Brown Sugar palette, and still do! It’s my top reached for palette, mostly because I’m working so much more these days and I need a neutral palette most of the time.
If you get one of them I’d love to hear what you think! Thanks for reading, and sorry for the late reply!

don’t apologize! I’ve been super terrible at replying back too!

          Thank you for understanding! 😊

My favourites from CP are definitely Dream St., Brown Sugar, Good Sport, I’m really enjoying the cream blush I recently got, and I like their white concealer to cut the crease. But their eyeshadow palettes definitely take the cake for me. And you are 100% right, they aren’t good for the price, they are good, regardless of the price. CP definitely has one of the best eyeshadow formulas in my opinion.

Other than those products, there have definitely been some products I haven’t enjoyed. I still haven’t been able to get on with the super shock highlighters (but maybe that was just the shade that didn’t work for me), and I don’t like the Lux lipstick I bought. It is probably a matte finish, but I just found it so incredibly drying, even if the shade was so pretty. Love this post!

It was hard not to choose all of my palettes for this list! I want to buy every single one, it’s hard to resist new releases. I’m glad that you loved their cream blushes!

There are definitely misses also with the hits, but that’s the case with any brand. Their Lux lipsticks are so weird, I have two I love and the other two are just ok! It’s hard to make up my mind when even my creme finishes seem different from each other. I’m sorry your SS highlighter didn’t work out, I remember you saying that πŸ™

Ooooh these all looks super amazing! I’ve expressed in a different post that I would love to try their lux lipsticks!
I have one of their lippie stix and it’s so so good! Love the formula!
I dont think I’ve ever tried their super shock shadows for the simple fact that I probably wouldn’t reach for them at all. As pretty and as good as they are.
I haven’t reached for my Dream St palette in a while and I think I’ll have to pull it out again!
    Great post doll!!

    • July 18, 2019 / 2:18 pm

I still haven’t tried the velvet blur Lux Lipsticks so I’m not sure how those ones are, I think the creme finish is the best! I hope you get to try them someday.
I hardly reach for then either! I only use them as eyeshadow toppers, but now that they’ve put super shock shadows in palettes I might use those ones more.
      Thanks for reading Rossy! 😊

      • July 20, 2019 / 8:49 am

Honestly they sound pretty good too lol. Velvet blur… sounds interesting.
And maybe they will continue to put them on future palettes who knows.

Loved seeing what you enjoy the most from Colourpop! Have you done a post of Colourpop products that didn’t live up to your expectations – that’d be fun to read x

    • July 11, 2019 / 1:47 am

Thanks Chanelle! I haven’t, no. Thank you for the idea! I will write up a draft at some point πŸ™‚

  5. July 10, 2019 / 7:32 pm

The Super Shock Highlighters have such an amazing formula! I agree, they’re almost wet-feeling. I have Smoke n’ Whistles and I use it constantly, even on my eyes. That Tea Party shade looks so beautiful!

    • July 11, 2019 / 1:48 am

They have the most unique texture of any highlighter I’ve ever used! I haven’t tried smoke n whistles but the shade is beautiful.
Tea party is such a pretty pink! Thanks for reading x

      • July 11, 2019 / 11:10 am

I’m a sucker for anything that feels cooling, even in the winter!

  6. July 10, 2019 / 1:38 pm

    Tea party looks sooooo pretty!

Now I want to try that lip scrub too! It even has a pretty color! I’m such a sucker for pretty products! Lol

    • July 11, 2019 / 1:51 am

I’ve loved Tea party for years!

The color doesn’t transfer onto your lips or anything but it certainly adds to the raspberry theme. These scrubs are so good, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed! x

Great roundup of your favourite products from ColourPop! When they were having their sale last week, I was contemplating getting the GITMS palette just because you have raved about it so much, but ultimately I couldn’t justify getting another palette when I am drowning in shadows at home!

I’m not nearly as well-versed in ColourPop products as you are, but I think my faves from them are the Brown Sugar palette, and some of their Super Shock Shadows, and SS Highlighters. I also agree that I wish they focused on the Lippie Stix more than the Lux Lipsticks – the two Lux Lipsticks that I own, I don’t really like!

You know, I found their Super Shock blushes pretty easy to work with when I first got one of them a few months ago, but I feel like it’s already dried out a lot or something because it’s so stiff and hard to work with now. I wish they were as creamy as the SS Highlighters….

    • July 11, 2019 / 1:56 am

Thank you! It’s a great palette but I think us bloggers don’t ever really need another palette right? It’s tough to use up what we already have!

The Brown Sugar palette really is the perfect neutral palette! I love that it works for so many different skin tones too. It’s a shame that the lux lipstick formula seems to be less consistent then the lippie stix, I know exactly what I’m going to get with Lippie Stix! I saw that they released lip crayons today…

Oh no! I think it’s harder to make them creamier when they’re a matte formula, but I could be wrong. I’m sorry yours has dried up already. Mine is still ok but I still don’t like it much lol Thanks for reading! x
