My February Ipsy Glam Bag bag has arrived! I feel like I’ve barely had a chance to try out January’s products, and now a new bag is here. To be fair, I signed up late in January so January’s bag arrived only two weeks ago.
I’m still very happy with my decision to return to Ipsy. I talked about my original reasons for unsubscribing in my Revisiting Ipsy blog post here, as well as the giant makeover Ipsy has had since I was last a subscriber in 2018. Ipsy has really grown up!
If you haven’t heard of Ipsy before, it’s a $12/month beauty subscription that promises 5+ deluxe and full sized beauty products a month. The majority of the products are deluxe samples, which is perfect for me. It takes me years to finish a full sized lipstick, and subscriptions like Boxycharm were leaving me with a backlog of full sized, unused products.
If you want to try your own Ipsy glam bag you can subscribe Here.

The February Ipsy Glam Bag
The physical makeup bag is my favourite out of all the glam bags I have received from Ipsy. This bag is so chic! I love the soft velvety material and the mauvey purple color. I adore this bag!
The glam bag theme this February is Feel The Love. Very appropriate!
This eye cream is a very small sample, but it’s actually the product that I chose for my February glam bag. Subscribers can choose one product in advance and I’m always on the lookout for a good eye cream. Eye creams actually last me a long time because I only dab on the smallest amount under my eyes.
This Murad Eye Cream has a combo of peptides and retinol to smooth fine lines and depuff the undereyes. It also has a brightening complex which should illuminate and reduce under eye bags. I’m hoping for good things!
I recently started using a retinol from Paula’s Choice for the first time (see my skincare haul) and so far so good! The most surprising to me was that the all over body retinol I’ve been using has greatly reduced the look of stretch marks on my chest (thanks E cup boobs). I’ve been self conscious about them for years and the other day I noticed I wasn’t noticing those marks as much. Crazy!
I’m hoping having a retinol in my eye cream will help with the uneven texture under my eyes and smooth some baby fine lines.
This is probably my favourite product in the February Glam Bag! This lip creme has a sweet scent and taste that I can’t quite place but I think it might be… Strawberries? I got the shade Slight Work and it’s beautiful! I don’t have anything quite like it.
Half Caked describes this semi-opaque gloss as a nude beige with micro-dimensional shimmer. It’s so beautiful!
The gloss is pretty comfortable too! It’s a tiny bit sticky but not enough to bother me.
This makeup primer from it Cosmetics claims to grip, refine pores and hydrate. It Cosmetics describes it as “a magnet for your makeup”. I’m really hoping that it can add some extra hydration to my skin. I’m curious about how it can refine pores and hydrate the skin at the same time though. Usually pore filling primers aren’t very hydrating so I’m intrigued.
Looking at the ingredients list it contains salicylic acid which is a BHA exfoliant. It’s pretty far down the list though so I don’t know how much is in there. There might not be enough to see an effect.
It also contains denatured alcohol and dimethicone near the top of the list, which are ingredients that I commonly hear warnings about. Who knows though, this primer has a 4.5 star rating on it cosmetics’ website so maybe I’ll enjoy it.
I’m currently loving the Too Faced Hangover primer from last month’s Ipsy glam bag, so when I finish that sample I’ll give this one a shot.
Nothing about this brush says pineapple to me, and the brush shipped with way more packaging than it should have. It came in a plastic sleeve, but there was also a plastic mesh around it that I’m pretty sure can’t be recycled. That’s annoying.
But anyways, this powder brush is so soft! I’m enjoying it so far, I’ve been using it for bronzer. The Aesthetical P12 brush is still my favourite brush for applying powders, but it’s nice to have a few backup brushes for when I’m behind on cleaning my main brushes.
Dr. Frog is a 50 year old brand from Korea. According to Ipsy this moisturizer functions as a toner, essence and moisturizer so it should make your morning go faster if you have a lot of steps to your skincare routine. Personally I like to use four to five products max in my skincare routine. I break out if I add any more.
Water Fullcharge feels luxurious AF, which I wasn’t expecting. I believe it’s partly because of the Hyaluronic Acid and ceramides. Oddly enough when I searched for Dr. Frog one of the top results was a post by Gamourable called “products I regret buying“. It sounds like this product line can cause irritation for sensitive skin types, but I didn’t experience anything like that.
What did you get in your February Ipsy Glam Bag?
Overall I think the February Ipsy glam bag for 2020 might not be exciting to a lot of people, but I’m pleased with all of the products. I’m going to use everything, there isn’t a product that I want to give away or set aside. I especially love the moisturizer and lip creme/gloss! I definitely want to check out more from Half Caked.
