What I Picked Up In the Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul

Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul How is September already here!? UGH Summer is leaving and I’m not ready. It feels almost wrong wearing high boots and drinking PSLs already but mother nature does what she wants. On the bright side there have been a ton of sales going on for Back To School, even though I’ve been out of of school for four and a half years… Cue my Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul! The sale exists to promote the recent changes to the Sephora Rewards program.

What did I buy?

Sephora will still be having their November VIB Sale so I made sure not to go too crazy. It was really hard narrowing down what I wanted to pick up, in the end I didn’t walk away with very many new additions to my makeup collection. That’s for the best, Mike & I are saving for a house and just opened up our first RRSPs so our money is locked away for the time being,

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream | My Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul

It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream in Fair

I tried a sample of this cream from Ipsy last November and I really liked it. For my skin it’s a good light coverage cream that give a very natural finish. I’m going light on the foundation these days because my skin has been super prone to breakouts so this is a great addition to my shelf. I also just finished two of my three foundations so I don’t feel too bad about buying another.

Regular Price: $49CAD
VIB Sale Price: $41.65CAD

Bite Beauty Dirty Chai Lipgloss | Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul

Bite Beauty Dirty Chai Lipgloss

Bite Beauty released a limited edition of coffee scented lip glosses not to long ago. I’m a coffee addict and I just retired a lipgloss and finished another so I wanted something to replace it with. I’ve heard good things about these glosses and the Dirty Chai shade looks so pretty!

Regular Price: $26CAD
VIB Sale Price: 22.10CAD

Algenist Genius Liquid Collagen | Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul

Algenist Liquid Collagen

I’m saving my beauty insider points for full size items now that that is on the table for VIB & Rouge members but I saw that the Algenist Liquid Collegen was available as a points redemption so I had to pick it up. This product isn’t cheap, this tiny bottle is valued at over $10CAD (full size is over $100). I want to see if this can help at all with my forehead lines!

Points: 100

Sephora Appreciation Sale Haul Samples

Samples

For samples I chose a Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream, Eve Lom Gel Balm Cleanser and a Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum.

My order was supposed to come with a little Beauty Blender sample because Sephora was giving them out with Foundation purchases but my order didn’t arrive with one. Grrrr!

What did you pick up for the Sephora Beauty Insider Appreciation Sale?

Overall my Sephora appreciation sale haul was quite small with only two full sized products purchased. I’m fine with that, I have more makeup than I know what to do with right now so I’m only letting myself replace things that I’ve run out of. Let me know what you picked up during the sale!

There will always be another sale! I went and put my extra money into RRSPS recently so now I can’t spend it, I need to learn a bit more self control now lol.
Birthday shopping is the best! Hopefully you can treat yourself a bit 🙂

I don’t mean to be…what’s the word I’m looking for… can’t find it let me try a different one.. jeez it literally escaped my mind…BUT… I don’t mean to be a “bad influence”… BUT, you COULD save money whilst at the same time saving some for yourself on the side lol. Like an allowance. We do that 🙂 we set aside savings and rent and bills and food etc, and if there’s some leftover, we get to spend a bit but we give ourselves like $20 USD at the most* 🙂 just an idea, feel free to reject lmao
And yes, that being said, I do hope I can splurge haha, I’ve been busy spending my money for my son’s bday party planning so I’m trying to get ahead of the and forget about myself ;( LOL

Lol! Well we do set aside a bit of money for ourselves each month, but It all seems to go into starbucks 😆
But My husband and I talked this week and we decided to put buying a house on hold until next summer. I was getting so stressed out crunching the numbers and penny pinching to come up with 20% and still have a bills/emergency fund so we’ve decided to cut ourselves some slack and wait until next june/july. Now I don’t need to feel guilty about every purchase as long as I don’t go crazy 🙂
Birthday parties can be expensive. I’m sure it will be great, hopefully you can save a little for yourself!

          • September 20, 2018 / 11:27 pm

Awh girl Starbucks is addicting!! I don’t blame you, I was getting it a lot for a while haha.
That’s good, don’t stress yourself out. I’m putting off buying a house for a few more years because I’m not working at the moment. Lol. But that’s a great idea, the longer you wait the more money you can save up.
I’m surprised I’ve been buying stuff for cheap, well mostly everything, lots of stuff is under a dollar haha. And I’m making lots of projects myself instead of buying certain things so that’s been really fun.

It’s so hard not to when its PSL season 😅
That totally makes sense, houses are so expensive! Our parents bought their first house for under 50k way back when and seem baffled that we can’t afford the most upgraded house right now 🙄
DIY projects are so much fun!

          • September 22, 2018 / 11:43 am

Haha I don’t think I’ve ever truly had a PSL from Starbucks 🤔
Awh yeah, everything was much much cheaper back then. It’s crazy how living expenses have risen since we were younger. I mean, I remember when gas was $1.90 USD now its $3.30 lol. But yes, everything is more expensive now. And it doesn’t help that we still get paid such shitty wages..

Wow that’s crazy to me! They aren’t for everyone though, my husband hates pumpkin spice. More for me I guess lol
It really was. Minimum wage is finally being risen to a “living wage” here in Alberta at $15 an hour, but it’s still hard to live anywhere but a small apartment on that wage if you don’t want to have room mates. We’re lucky that both Mike & I are working now and that we are renting from friends who give us a good deal on rent, but I can’t imagine how much harder it would be if we weren’t.
But from what I’ve heard wages really suck in the US right now 🙁

          • September 24, 2018 / 9:52 pm

I’ll have to try it just in case I like it. I did like the pumpkin donuts though that’s maybe not the same thing lol.
Yeah true that, it’s the same here, you get a raise but your rent keeps rising. 😩

I haven’t tried pumpkin donuts so I couldn’t actually tell you if they’re similar lol. You have to try one at least once!
🙁 Yep, ours is going up in January

          • September 24, 2018 / 10:06 pm

Well if you ever find pumpkin donuts try it and let me know if you like them and I’ll let you know if I like the PSL haha

I hope you like that Bite gloss a little more than I did! And don’t get me wrong, it’s nice, but just not my favourite or go-to by any means. I mostly stocked up on things that I was running out of: TF Peachy primer, KVD white concealer for cut-creases oh and I did get that Kiehl’s eye cream! So far it seems really nice, although I haven’t used it a ton yet because I was finishing up another eye cream. But it really does seem like it will be light but hydrating.

I don’t mind it, I just posted a review today actually! In summary I found it non-sticky and comfortable to wear but the smell wasn’t as “fresh coffee”ish as I had expected :S
I’m happy to hear that you like the eye cream so far! My previous eyecream was a gel and it just wasn’t hydrating enough, the Kiehls one is much better

      • September 17, 2018 / 11:50 pm

Yup stale coffee all the way!! Yes the eye cream definitely has like a serum-y undertone to the cream, if that makes any sense lol.
