What’s In My Bag: Travel Makeup

What's in My Bag: Travel MakeupHey beauties, I’m finally in Peru after what feels like ages of waiting. In today’s post I’m sharing with you what’s in my travel makeup bag for this month long adventure! I haven’t done a What’s In My Bag post in so long! I did a What’s In My Camping Bag way back in Summer of 2016 when I was still figuring out how to blog, and I think that was the last one. Since I’m away for almost a month I made sure to pack products that I can use multiple ways to conserve space!

Travel Makeup: Face Makeup

Foundation, Primer, Concealer

I decided to include a BB cream because not only does this shade match me really well, it also includes SPF which is an absolute must for me. I also packed a little primer from my 2017 September Ipsy Bag, and a concealer palette.  The concealer palette not only comes with colour correctors, but it also includes a cream highlight shade.

  • Dr. G Daily Safe BB Cream for Sensitive Skin (Reviewed HERE)
  • Smashbox Photofinish Radiance Primer
  • Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting kit (Reviewed HERE)

Travel Makeup: Bronzer, Blush, Highlight

Blush, Bronzer, Highlight

I tried to include products that I wouldn’t be too torn up about losing or breaking in my luggage. The Jelly Pong Pong Blush/Bronzer duo is really buttery and pretty, and the Ciaté bronzer and Pixi blush/highlight have been on my project pan list for a season or two. I decided to include a cream highlight crayon as well.

  • Ciaté Bamboo Bronzer Mini
  • Jelly Pong Pong Carribbean Sun Bronzer/Blush Duo
  • Pixi By Petra Blush/Highlight Duo
  • The Beauty Crop Glamazon Stick (Reviewed HERE)

Eyeshadow

The sephora palette above is my oldest palette. It’s good for simple every day makeup looks, and the mirror is awesome. I also included it for the big mirror so it’s easy to apply my travel makeup on the go. I wanted a palette that could take my travel look from day to night so I included the tartelette tease palette. It’s the perfect size for travel.

  • Sephora Sunbleached Filter Palette (Reviewed HERE)
  • Tartelette Tease Palette (Reviewed HERE)
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion – Travel Size

Travel Makeup: Mascara, Brow Gel, Eyeliner

Eyeliner, Mascara, & Brows

I didn’t want to bring products that I would have to fuss with. I included a simple eyeliner pen and a waterproof mascara for the trip (I won it in Linda’s giveaway, give her blog some love!) because waterproof is just the way to go for travel. We’re going to a few different hot springs and I don’t want to deal with runny mascara! I’m also packing brow gel.

  • Marcelle Precision Liquid Eyeliner Pen
  • L’Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara
  • Essence Make Me Brow Gel

Travel Makeup: Lipstick

Lipstick

I had such a hard time narrowing down which lipsticks to take with me! In the end I didn’t want to look super made up the whole time. I chose a nude liquid lip, lip crayon, and a sheer finish lipstick.

  • Nyx Lip Lingerie in Ruffle Trim (Reviewed HERE)
  • TrèStiQue Lip Crayon in Florence Fig + Rose Balm
  • Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

Travel Makeup: Brushes

Brushes

I would have loved to take my entire brush collection, but I knew that would take up too much space. I tried to pick brushes that I could use for multiple things like a packing lid brush and a $1 crease and blending brush from e.l.f. The Luxie brush I’ll use for the bb cream as well as for highlight, and the Mememe brush will be used for blush and bronzer.

  • e.l.f. Precision Crease Brush
  • e.l.f C Brush
  • e.l.f. Blending brush
  • Luxie Foundation/Highlight Brush
  • Mememe Powder Brush

Travel Makeup Flatlay

I feel like I both over and underpacked in the makeup department. I’m gone for such a long period of time as far as vacations go that I wanted to give myself a bit of room to change things up. I also didn’t want to bring my entire collection with me as I only have so much space in my backpack. Stay tuned for my travel makeup look next week!

I struggle so much with packing makeup for travels, this really helped! Thanks lovely x

It’s hard to know what to bring! Thanks for reading ☺

I love this even more as I myself am going to Peru this year so this is so relevant for me! Also, I love your photography it makes the whole post look so put together and thoughtful. Thank you x

That’s so exciting! When are you going and whereabouts in peru? Huacachina was my favourite place ☺ And thank you so much!

I recommend ester Lauder double wear foundation. It literally lasts all day so is perfect for traveling! The bottle looks tiny but it easily lasts 3 months.
I also recommend a keratin blow dry for anyone with unmanageable hair whilst travelling! I went from a hermione granger lampshade look/frizzball to perfectly straight super soft hair without a hair dryer – all I took with me was a tangle teaser. Miracle cure! I’ll be blogging about it soon so keep your eyes peeled 😊

      Thanks for reading! ❤
Where are you travelling too? It’s so hard to know exactly what you’ll need for a trip, especially a longer one!

To Hong Kong and The Philippines! I’ve never been there so it’s really gonna be exiting to see those parts of Asia! ❤️

That’s so exciting!! Are you going to blog about it? I’d love to read about your adventures ☺

I always travel with way too much make up, even as a backpacker I always have loads of lipsticks and coloured eyeliners, ‘just in case’ 🙏🏻🙏🏻

    • November 21, 2017 / 11:25 pm

It’s really hard to narrow it down. I totally get that, I’m also like “but what if I want to wear something different!?”. It’s so hard to choose!

  7. November 13, 2017 / 7:37 pm

Love your pics and great items!

All your pictures are really cute!!💜💛💕💖

Have an amazing trip! What are your thoughts on the L’Oréal Mascara? I’m looking in to buying it 😀

    -Jennifer x

    • October 30, 2017 / 10:14 pm

I like it a lot! Probably more than the too faced better than sex Mascara its supposed to be a dupe for. You definitely need waterproof makeup remover though!

      • October 31, 2017 / 3:31 am

Thank you so much! I think I always use a waterproof remover so that won’t be a problem. 😀

Maybelline’s correcting kit has to be amazing! I have the same Sephora palette, but I picked the vintage filter 🙂

    xx Federica

    • October 28, 2017 / 7:55 am

It’s really good, right? And so affordable compared to the color correcting kits at Sephora.
The vintage filter palette looks really good to!

  11. October 26, 2017 / 4:22 pm

Wow that’s so many great products in your travel bag! I want to try out that Maybelline Concealer Kit! My travel bag has all of my Go-To’s like the Benefit Cheek Parade, the ABH Modern Renaissance, Coty Airspun powder and UD All Nighter.

    • October 28, 2017 / 7:50 am

😁 I try to bring my favourites, or things that I know I won’t have to fuss with. Let me know how you like it if you pick up the Maybelline kit! I like that the green shade isn’t too neon so it’s easier to blend in.
I want the Modern Renaissance pallette so bad! I’ve been enjoying the coty powder from your giveaway prize 😊

  12. October 25, 2017 / 11:28 pm

Hey! I hope you are enjoying your visit to Peru so far. I think you did a pretty good job selecting the products for your trip. Most people here don’t use highlighter but I absolutely think it is a must for those days when you feel too tired. Again, I really hope you enjoy it here : ) have fun and be safe!

    • October 26, 2017 / 9:28 am

Thank you, It’s been great so far! We’ve been to lima, Huacachina and Arequipa so far. Such a beautiful country 💕
That’s interesting about the highlighter! I haven’t really worn to much of what I brought, I’ve been too busy exploring to apply makeup 😂

  13. October 25, 2017 / 3:32 pm

You did such a good job at narrowing down your makeup to bring! You have such a long trip too so it’s good to have a few extra options but nothing too crazy so that you can lug things around in your backpack without it being too heavy!

    • October 25, 2017 / 11:07 pm

Haha It’s funny, I brought all this but I’ve barely had time to put any on! We just did a 2 day hike and I have none on in any of the pictures. It’s so weird to me!

      • October 27, 2017 / 7:54 pm

I find I don’t tend to wear makeup on trips! I might do the basics and that’s it. But I get so excited to just get out and do things that I don’t want to spend any extra time getting ready lol

        • October 27, 2017 / 9:38 pm

I haven’t really had the extra energy to expend, I also just want to go do things! Other girls brought hair straighteners and hair spray and it’s just waaay too much for me 😄

  14. October 25, 2017 / 12:30 pm

Yes, you’re finally in Peru!! It’s going to be such an exciting trip! My travel makeup has slowly gotten bigger over the years, I used to be good with just some foundation, concealer and eyeliner 😂

    • October 25, 2017 / 11:04 pm

Finally!! I feel like I’ve been waiting forever! We’re in Arequipa right now and we leave for Cuzco tomorrow. It’s been a blast so far 😁
Haha me too! Until I started this blog I would only wear eyeliner and maybe one shade of eyeshadow. Now I have a full bag xD

      • October 25, 2017 / 11:20 pm

Arequipa! I loved it there, although I got a little altitude sickness cause I forgot to take the pills. Cuzco is amazing too, I remember we had like four seasons in a day there 🙂

        • October 25, 2017 / 11:39 pm

This city is really beautiful! Drivers here are crazy though, I can’t figure out the driving & pedestrian laws 😄We hiked colca canyon yesterday & today and a few people did get altitude sicknesses, I’ve been ok so far, but we’ll see how Cuzco goes. The locals have this yellow fluid made from coco leaves, supposedly it helps with altitude headaches and dizziness if you smell it deeply. Hopefully I don’t need it because we didn’t get the altitude pills. Oops! 😮
The weather is crazy, it goes from cold to hot to cold in a matter of minutes!

  15. October 25, 2017 / 12:15 pm

Have so much fun on your trip! I just got the Tartelette Tease palette and I am excited to use it.

    • October 25, 2017 / 11:01 pm

Thanks Nova! I hope you love it 💕

  16. October 25, 2017 / 11:10 am

Ooooh I was just looking at that Sephora palette the other day but I just don’t hear much about their eyeshadows. How’s the formula? Loved reading this x

    • October 25, 2017 / 11:01 pm

It was a really great palette when I first started learning to apply eyeshadow, but there are better palettes out there. Some shades are more pigmented than others, and the more glittery shades are a bit patchy. I wouldn’t call it bad though! It definitely has it’s uses. The dark brown is very pigmented and makes a great liner, and the purply shade is really pretty in the crease. It’s good for travel because I can make a few easy looks with it but I won’t be torn up if ot breaks. Thanks for reading! 💕

I’m so jealous of your trip! I can’t wait to read more about it, don’t forget to make tons of photos and have fun <3

    • October 25, 2017 / 10:56 pm

It’s been great so far! Ive had a lot of fun, but being in a different country really makes me appreciate my home in Canada so much more. There’s so much poverty here it’s really sad to see. I’ll definitely be updating when I get back in November! Thanks Siyana ❤
