What’s In My Bag ~ Travel Skincare & Hair Routine

What's in My Bag: Travel Skincare + Hair RoutineHey beauties! As part of my Travel Peru Series I wanted to include my travel skincare & Hair routine in addition to my makeup routine. It’s easy to take care of your skin in the comfort of your own home surrounded by your every day products, but on the go it’s a little bit more challenging. Since we’re taking busses and trains between destinations I don’t have a whole lot of room for luggage. I’m taking just one backpack (granted a big one) so I had to condense my routine. Here’s what made the cut!

What's in My Bag: Travel Skincare Routine

 Travel Skincare Routine

I tried to condense my travel skincare routine the most, as taking a full regime took up too much space. I’m taking a bottle of Live Clean cleanser, as well as a makeup remover. I was so excited when I saw a Warsh Cloth in my Luxebox, I’ve never used one of these just add water cloths for cleansing, exfoliating and removing makeup so I decided this is perfect time to test it! Of course I packed a moisturizer, eye cream, and some little Hanalei powder cleanser packets to try. I decided not to pack toner.

  • Live Clean Daily Cleanser
  • Nivea Eye Makeup Remover
  • Maxine Warsh The Warsh Cloth for Her
  • Garnier Moisture Bomb (reviewed Here)
  • Hanalei Powder Cleanser Packets x5
  • Caudalie Vine [Activ] Eye Cream

Bath, Body & Hair Care

I can’t leave home without lip balm so I packed a balm from Tony Moly as well as a little lip treatment product from Hanalei. I also packed a Cake Beauty body cream and a little soap bar!

  • Nova Scotia Fisherman Fundy Clay & Mint Soap
  • Cake Beauty Desserted Island Supreme Body Mousse
  • Hanalei Lip Treatment
  • Tony Moly Lip Tone Rose Balm
  • Hawaiian Tropic Sunscreen (not pictured)

I’m finally going to use up some of my travel size shampoo and conditioner bottles! I knew I was saving them for a reason! I’ve been trying to train my hair to be washed less so dry shampoo has been my best friend for the past few weeks.

  • Batiste Dry Shampoo
  • Dove Regenerative Nourishment Shampoo & Conditioner
  • Dove Deep Moisture Hydration Nourishing Body Wash

It really is so challenging to condense a multi-step skin routine while travelling! I hate skipping steps especially since my skin already tends to flare up when I’m away from home. A few things that I do skip are shower gel / shampoo – I just take my chances with whatever the hotel has. Although, I’m imagining that hiking in Peru poses different challenges! (by the way, I’m so envious of your trip to Peru – we’ve been wanting to go for years)

It really is, especially with limited space. I haven’t been wearing a lot of makeup so my skin is doing pretty well here aside from a sunburn on my nose. I wish I could have skipped the shampoo and shower gel, unfortunately hostels don’t supply much. And the hostel in arequipa threw away my fisherman’s soap bar! 😬
You definitely need to go someday! It’s been a really great experience so far, though very eye opening about these poverty that exists outside of where I live. I hope you get to go to Peru one day 😁

The best thing I ever discovered was powder sunscreen! I took it on my trips and it’s been a lifesaver while on the go.
Sorry about your Fisherman’s soap – that stuff is good.
We already bought a Peru travel guide… just need to find a good time to go!

Whaaaat powdered sunscreen is a thing!? I need to look into that!
That’s exciting! Every place we’ve visited is so different, you’ll love it 😀
