What’s in my Makeup Travel Bag |Panama

Travel Makeup BagIf you’re reading this the week I posted it I’m currently in Panama, hopefully lying on the beach with a cocktail in my hand. May might be an odd time to go on vacation, most people go in the winter to get away from the cold but the timing turned out to be perfect. My schedule at work has been all over the place, I spent the first weekend in May at a funeral and if you follow my instagram stories you’ll know that someone recently smashed my front glass door window. That’s not to say that my life is awful or anything, I know very well how blessed I am to have a place to live, a job, two cats and a loving (and sometimes frustrating) husband. Still, it’s nice to get away for a while.

I was slightly nervous for this trip. I always travel with my husband but this time I’m going with a friend and we’re going to be on our own for two days in Panama so I can’t help feeling a little apprehensive. We will also be sharing a group dorm with our tour group so I can’t help feeling anxious about what our group mates are going to be like. I will be sure to update you all on how the trip went, for now let’s talk makeup: What did I take with me to Panama & Costa Rica?

For face makeup this time around I’m not bothering with foundation. It will probably melt right off my face anyway so I’m only bringing a small concealer palette. I’m taking a Becca Primer with me though because the purple tint helps balance out my skin and gives me a dewy glow.

I wanted to bring my Too Faced Natural Love palette on vacation but it’s just to big to travel with using a backpack. Instead I chose the ColourPop Give It To Me Straight Palette because it’s great for natural every day makeup. I also threw in a waterproof eyeliner & mascara.

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Eyeliner

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Mascara

I always have a hard time narrowing down my lip products when I travel. I always end up taking at least three products even though I don’t really need to. I did make sure to pack a waterproof mascara and a brow gel.

TreStiQué Rose Fig Lip Balm & Lipstick

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

What’s the one makeup product you always travel with?

Thank you guys so much for reading, I’ll do my best to keep up with comments and reading blogs, etc, but some of that may have to wait until I get back to Canada 😉 Take care <3

I always take the Colourpop Yes, Please palette with me! Not that I always wear it, usually I just do a bold winged eyeliner. But I like having the option of a sunset eye! 😊

That would be a great travel palette!

Great post! 💕 I recently picked up the Colourpop Give it to Me Straight palette and I think you’re right, it’d be a great travel palette for neutral looks! My favorite travel product is probably the Rimmel Kate Moss face trio in Coral Glow that includes a bronzer, blush, and highlighter! ❤️

It’s small size makes it great for travel too! I just wish it had a little mirror. I’ve been meaning to pick up that little trio for a while, I’ve heard such great things about it!

You’re right, a mirror would make it perfect! And it’s a great trio, especially for its price point 😊

I’m sure you’re having the most amazing time and hopefully you got on great with your tour group. I love that eye shadow palette. My favourite must-have beauty item is my eyebrow pencil from HD brows.

Thank you! Honestly the tour group wasn’t great, I’m looking forward to getting home tonight. I still had fun but the tour company was very disorganized and messed up a lot of our bookings 🙁 But I learned to surf so that was great!
I’ve never heard of that brow pencil, I’ll check it out! Thanks for the recommendation ☺

Hmm, I don’t know if there’s a specific product I always travel with, to be honest! I take about the same amount of makeup as you. Sometimes I feel like it’s too much because I see other girls packing light and taking like 5 things, but I just can’t find it in myself to cut anything out of my routine!

The Give It To Me Straight palette looks perfect for travel! Looks like it’s very versatile so you can create many different looks with it.

I’m so sad that you smashed your Becca highlighter again (I remember seeing it on IG)…those things are so soft and fragile!

I’m glad you’re getting the chance to go away! Even though life isn’t bad per se, sometimes you just need a break from reality.

I don’t think I could ever take just 5 products! that’s way to little for me haha

It’s a really good travel palette, I just wish that it had a mirror. I repressed the highlighter today, It’s back to functioning again lol

I got home last night, being away was nice but I’m really happy to be home now. Thanks for reading! 🙂

I can’t go anywhere without my UD primer potion, even a day I can’t do. I also LOVE Becca’s highlighters I switch between opal and champagne pop. Hope you are having a great time and great selection of makeup! xo

Me too, primer potion is so good! I smashed my opal Highlighter again while here, I have to repress it when I get home 😞 Thanks Alice!

That ColourPop palette looks like a great option for travelling! It has all the colours you need to do a complete eye look and a good variety of shades too.

I brought a lipstick with me while I was on vacation a couple of weeks ago and I didn’t use it at all. I should remind myself that I have to force myself to wear lip colour when I’m home – what made me think I’d wear it on vacation? 😆 I did bring my Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look in a Palette in Beauty Glow and it was perfect!

I hope you’re enjoying your time in Panama!

Thanks Stashy! Its been fun for the most part. I’ve worn the palette quite a bit but I’m at the point in my vacation where I can’t even be bothered with makeup anymore 😄 I tried for the first three or four days but because of the humidity I’m sweating my makeup off within an hour or two.

I kept trying to wear Lipstick too but I’ve also given up on worrying about it 😆

I’ve seen that CT palette a few times on Instagram lately, it looks perfect for travel!

Last time I traveled I brought the Tarte Swamp Queen Palette w/ me since it had 9 eyeshadow shades, a blush, bronzer & highlighter. It was really convenient haha
